The Wine Whisperer is a wine shop and bistro located in Richmond's Short Pump neighborhood. We speak wine and are passionate about sharing your new favorite bottle or glass with you!

Our wine bar is designed to offer an immersive experience to our guests. Let our knowledgeable staff help you learn about your palate and curate a flight of wine just for you! Look for a rotating by the glass list, craft beers, more whiskey than you imagined, and an expansive food menu built for wine pairing. The intimate dining room is a perfect spot for a casual glass with friends or that special occasion date. Look for weekly wine tastings, monthly classes, and other special events that are uniquely Whisperer!

Who paired it best? It’s a battle of the palates... a showdown of the somms… a test to determine WHO PAIRED IT BETTER?! This past summer, Jenna and Amber went head-to-head on pairing wines across a menu of, well, difficult pairings. You came. You tasted. You voted. And Jenna took home the title of World’s Greatest Food and Wine Pairer*! This year, Amber wants another chance, and she’s not holding back. Join us for a five course tasting menu with each course paired alongside two wines… one pick from Jenna, reigning champion, and one pick from Amber, eager to prove herself. If you missed this event last year, you really missed something special. Close out your damp January with a bang! $150 per person (plus tax and gratuity).

Join us each Wednesday night between 5 - 7:30 pm for our weekly Winesday tasting. Featuring Whisperer favorites and new additions to the line up, this tasting is a casual, drop in event. No tickets are needed in advance. Tickets are $20 at the door ($10 for Wine Club Members!) and no reservations are required. We’d love to see you at the tasting table!

Cute and cozy, this is a little gem in Short Pump's Pump shopping center. Never mind that it's across from the Chik-Fil-A. You soon forget that after you enter this charming bistro for date night or a double date. I highly recommend it for wine lovers, although other adult beverages are served. (I would not bring kids or even teens, since it's really not a family restaurant kind of spot, especially with the wine shop at the entrance.) The service is knowledgeable and friendly, and the food is delicious, if a bit pricey. You can dine tapas style or choose from several starters and entrees. We did the latter, but the former would have been fun too. The Christmas specials, based on the owner's mom's recipes, were a very clever addition to the menu. My only criticism is that the specials menu, which was printed on blue paper with a tiny font, was a struggle for me to read in the ambient lighting without turning on my phone flashlight like an old lady; consequently, I did not order anything from that menu. The Wine Whisperer is a winner and sure to be a local favorite.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to The Wine Whisperer. Ingrid took excellent care of us and made our Dealers Choice flight exceptionally personalized through a series of questions to better understand what we would like. That’s the first time we have had such an experience and it panned out very well for us!

We received great help from our server. He was able to provide great wine pairings based on our meal selection our individual taste preferences. The food selections were fantastic, as well. We will make a visit to The Whisper a routine habit.

What another wonderful experience! The service, as always, was absolutely some of the best in the city. The food and wine were equally delicious and paired perfectly. Thank you, Amber and Alex, for helping to make our date night so special.
