Welcome to Toloache (pronounced toh-lo-AH-tchay), chef-owner Julian Medina’s contemporary Mexican bistro located in the heart of the Theater District. Toloache is named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions. We hope that when you dine with us you too will fall under the spell of chef Medina’s creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies. Our festive, two-story space features a guacamole and ceviche bar, a wood-burning oven, and an exceptional tequila list, along with elegant decorative elements imported from Mexico.     I and my family have been coming to Toloache for many years and the food is always so good. The staff is professional, courteous, and attentive. Toloache is one of my favorite restaurants in the theatre district.

    Great restaurant! Food was excellent. Service was wonderful! Only complaint is one bathroom upstairs so a line formed but NYC space is limited. Highly recommend this restaurant. Had the guacamole trio and enchiladas. Margaritas are good and they don’t skimp on the alcohol.. homemade churros for dessert were the best I ever had!

    Food was excellent. Drinks were yummy. Service was mostly good until the bus boy could NOT WAIT TO TAKE OUR PLATES. We were literally still eating, and he was taking plates out from under our forks. Very strange.

    Our waiter recommended fabulous drinks, a taco and entree for my husband and I to share. Everything was delicious. Seats upstairs are very close together (no private conversations). A great find in the theater district.
