   We ordered 2 drinks and we only got 1 after waiting neatly 50 minutes. We never received our second drink. Our waiter was very polite and apologetic but the wait time for everything ruined our valentines day night.

   It tooo is 55 minutes to get two drinks . 2 hour experience for one shared meal & 2 drinks

    I was traveling solo on business in Houston and made a reservation for one via Open Table. When I arrived there were seats available at the bar so I took one instead of sitting at a table in the main dining room. The service was just slightly slow initially (getting my order placed), but only because there was only one bartender. After that the service was exemplary. I started with a beet hummus and burrata salad, which was was an exquisite blend of wonderful flavors. I followed with the Peruvian ceviche, which, like any ceviche I have ever had at a Richard Sandoval venue, was outstanding. Not quite as good as the ceviche at Costa Verde in Lima, but pretty close. My seat mate at the bar offered me a taste of his ribeye steak, which was a perfect medium rare and maybe the most flavorful ribeye I have ever tasted anywhere, with the possible exception of Bones in Atlanta or a restaurant called The Refinery in Andover NH. I will definitely visit Toro Toro again soon!

   Before arrival I had already reviewed the menu several times and knew what I wanted to try. Ordered our appetizers and our entrées. Appetizers never came. Short rib carbon was amazing. Definitely recommend that. 10 ounce wagyu was tough and overall terrible. The steak knives are so dull and couldn’t even cut through what is supposed to be a very tender cut of meat. Our waitress was a nice person but found that waitressing probably isn’t her calling. We ordered our food at 7:30. Received it around 8:30. At the same time I ordered dessert and a coffee to go. Took them another 30 minutes for the boxing of the flan. I asked for cream and sugar for with my coffee. Didn’t receive that at all. Had to request again, which took them another 10 or so minutes. For a Friday night it was seemingly slow. (About 6 other occupied tables). This experience is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant..

   Outstanding service and food recommendations accompany very nicely prepared, great tasting and nicely presented dishes. The bar restaurant area is a little noisy and open.

    Too noisy for a conversation. Everyone has to yell and it is difficult to hear people from your table. Food was excellent
