Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Trattoria Il Panino in Boston's North End is a delightful spot for authentic Italian cuisine, consistently praised for "amazing food" and a "fantastic dining experience." With standout dishes like "best lasagna ever" and a memorable ambiance featuring a basement wine cellar vibe, it promises an unforgettable meal. Service is generally friendly and attentive, though the bustling atmosphere can be quite loud, with seating sometimes cramped. Despite occasional service hiccups, patrons frequently commend the restaurant as a must-visit for Italian food lovers.

We came to Boston for Christmas, and were so happy to have chosen this restaurant to eat. The wait staff was extremely pleasant, and the atmosphere, divine. The food was DELICIOUS, and each of us ate all of the food on our plate.

Busy service but they handled it pretty well. We had lasagna, cacio e pepe, gnocchi, and carbonara. Cacio was lacking in flavor. Gnocchi was not hot enough. Other two were very good. Prices are fair. I would definitely go back.

Pasta is the best in North End-simply superb. The Cacio Pepe and ravioli porcini one of akind! Did not enjoy the basement as much as prior visits topside.

Amazing food!! Fresh al dente pasta. Lobster raviolis and cacio Pepe were delicious! Dinner served right from the frying pan! Loved that! Might have missed on the opportunity on the little things... like serving soda from a can and bringing cold bread slices in basket with no butter or olive oil.

Delicious!! Tight quarters with the tables but that’s every North end restaurant. Delicious food and drinks but they don’t serve desert. Need to go to their bakery next door but given it was Christmas Eve Eve, there were lines out of every bakery door!! Good service and not bad prices. They have valet ($30) but didn’t realize and my husband dropped us off and parked in the lot down the street. They won’t seat you until your full party is together. Overall would definitely recommend.
