2024: awarded 2 Michelin stars!

Trivet derives from the age-old cooking utensil - an iron tripod placed over fire to support a cooking pot or kettle - reflecting the warmth and balance which forms Head Chef Jonny Lake and Master Sommelier Isa Bal’s values for the restaurant, as well as their working relationship.

From the very beginning of the creative process, Jonny, Isa and the team think about how food and drink work together. The menu features their explorations of ingredients, dishes and drinks from around the world, inspired by the culinary history and diversity around us. The wine list is set out chronologically, following the historic beginnings of wine to present day, with over 350 wines from classic producers to the New World, as well as acknowledging the root of viti-vinoculture with wines from Georgia, Armenia and Turkey.

As well as the welcoming main dining room, Trivet has a terrace, wine bar and private dining space. Monday nights transform into the LaBombe Wine Bar.

I would like to make a constructive review without being overly critical for what was a good experience. Have had the pleasure of eating at several 2 and 3 star restaurants in the UK, Italy, France and the US. I just felt a little underwhelmed with the whole experience. It started very well with a great barman whose knowledge of the menu and wine list was superb. We were sat at our table. The table service throughout was a little generic and robotic almost as if they had no experience of tasting the food itself. The sommelier was excellent and steered us toward a lovely Armenian Areni Noir which paired great with all our dishes. The food itself, we ordered lobster and sweetbreads for starters and end of lamb amd and chicken in vinegar for mains, just didn't quite hit the mark for us. The standout was the lamb dish but the others seemed to lack a bit of star quality. I think with a 2 star you don't have to find the taste of everything to your palate but it should certainly evoke some great appreciation of a culinary master at work. It just fell a bit short for us both on food and service. Overall, it was good but not mind-blowing which is what I would expect from a 2 star.

Great environment. Ignore any reviews saying staff are unhelpful and arrogant, because that simply isn't the case, they really couldn't have been more helpful and charming. If you like a place with a buzz then this will be perfect, want a more cosy quiet corner....then this might not be your style. Overall an outstanding evening (and I'm very picky).

Hit or miss food and nice but a bit disconnected service. Didn't meet the full expectations of this 2 Michelin star standard.

Excellent food and wine! Great service! Loved everything especially bread, lamb and John Dory dishes! The only minus was the noise, but it didn’t bother us much (it might be a problem if you have high expectations for the).
