We had some good dishes, the pork, risotto and mountain gnocchi were delicious. The arugula salad and Branzino fell short. Not much flavor and fish was dry. The restaurant was very loud and we couldn’t hear each other well given the noise level. We did ask for the manager to speak to the very loud group we were seated next to, which never happened, so a bit disappointing to not be able to enjoy the meal and our party more. The staff was pleasant but felt inexperienced for a restaurant of this level. They continually bumped our chairs when bringing food and water and were too quick to clear food, which made the meal feel rushed.

What a beautiful experience. My husband and I were very impressed we were greeted at the door and the service continued to be a 10. We brought our children, not realizing how high-end the restaurant was. They catered beautifully to my children, offering plain pasta, but I would say I’m very excited to come back and order a beautiful bottle of wine with Marco’s suggestion and dive into that delicious Bolognese again it was outstanding! We shared a very flavorful radicchio salad w honey and walnuts, delicious and then for an entree the tuna, outstanding! Looking forward to our next visits.

Great service and food. Will definitely go back. $75 corkage fee is a little punitive. Didn’t love that.

I have now dined at Veneto at least five times, along with most of SLC's other top-rated establishments (Urban Hill, Walter's Capital Grill, etc.), and I believe Veneto is hands-down the single best restaurant in the city if not the state. The ambience, the service, the attention to detail -- all are simply astonishing. It is the closest thing to a Michelin-star restaurant I know of in the state. The proprietor, Marco, is an extraordinary host, who is totally committed to excellence and who has trained his staff to introduce each dish and glass of wine with articulate detail, from ingredients to preparation. The entire evening is a work of art. My one concern, and it has only happened this one time, is that there was a large and rather boisterous party in the restaurant when we were there, and the acoustics did not absorb the sound well enough -- it was on the loud side. But that did not detract from the quality of the evening, which was four stars. I will be back.

We had a fantastic dinner last evening at Veneto during gnocchi fest. The food was amazing. The service was excellent and as usual, Marco directed us to the perfect wine for the evening. The culinary highlight of the evening was the red pepper and sausage gnocchi that my wife ordered. All of the different gnocchi we had were terrific, but that one was our number one choice. We look forward to our next visit!
