We went to the location that was on our 8 pm reservation ticket. That WAS NOT the location of the event. The website wasn't updated with the correct address until the event was almost over. My family walked for quite a while in the heat and rain to locate the venue at the Tucker House. Coordinators didn't supply large tents shade or rain. Well, the skies opened up. The coordinator said they were moving the event indoors. That did not happen. Needless to say, the tables, chairs and the paper products were soaked. The event location was not handicap friendly. The food stations were so far apart that in 95+ degrees in wasn't worth the walk. The burgers were good. This event was truly a misleading deal for their July 4th Feast. I'm out $276 for an absolutely poor planned dinner .

This was a special event. Except it was not at the Virginia ballroom like it said it was supposed to be. Fortunately someone serving as a doorman figured out the problem and realized we, and several others, were supposed to be at St. George. We did get to eat, an hour after our reservation. The food was wonderful, the staff was friendly and attentive, and mad props to the guy that figured out where we were supposed to be and got us there. The event itself gets 5 stars. Whomever it was on the other side of the computer that led a bunch of us to the wrong building in a different part of town gets 1 star. Never actually ate at the Virginia ballroom so I can’t yay or nay.

I need a refund!! The description and title was misleading as the event wasn’t at at the Virginia Ballroom and instead was on a lawn in the Colonial section, several blocks away. The address was even the Williamsburg Lodge as well. We went to the lodge for the event only to find out the event had been moved and a severe storm was brewing. We had to walk/ run to the new location as the storm started, ended up getting stuck under the check-in tent and couldn’t check-in because their system was down. The storm persisted for hours and we ended up having to run in the storm to our car, again several blocks away to find dinner. Because of the misleading description, wrong address being listed, and the weather experience due to the change in address, we were not able to get the experience nor the dinner we purchased.

Our experience was not as advertised, we paid $60+ per person for an all you can eat buffet and a place on the lawn with free non-alcoholic drinks. We arrived at the lawn location which was primarily in the hot sun with food stands spread sporadically on the lawn. We found out extra drink tickets were $11 with tax for one can of Diet Coke, which we thought would’ve been included for $60 as part of the non-alcoholic drink options! There were also no clean restrooms, just dirty port-a-potty’s outside and away from the buffet location. When we tried to exit to get a spot on the lawn to watch the fireworks, which was supposed to be included in the price, we were chased down by a lady with a scissor in hand, to cut the bracelets off our wrists. We told her it was advertised that we could come and go with the bracelets, she stated that “the advertisement had it all wrong” and there was no re-entry, nor was there any spots reserved on the lawn as we were under the impression that we had paid for, and what was shown in black and white, printed on our confirmation. We will not be back, nor would we recommend this experience, buyer beware!

We had bought 4 tickets and it was not well marked how to get to the barbecue. So we were 10 mins late. We great our drinks and a plate of food and it started to pour down rain. So needless to say we didn’t enjoy it or even get to try any of the foods at the different booths . Money thrown down the drain

This was an aberration for what usually are fantastic dining experiences in colonial Williamsburg. The event description for this “picnic” was unclear, and we were surprised to arrive and see that it was group tables of 8 to 10. We were about the third or fourth reservation time slot, and did not want to squeeze in with random groups of strangers already in the midst of meals. That left us at one of the five tables in the direct, scorching sun. The organizers could have arranged tables so that guests were in the shade instead of placing employees/ food tables under tents and in the shade. Also, portions were ridiculously small even for a buffet, and the food was like something you would buy from a food truck— not a $50/ person meal. I considered walking out and requesting a refund as this was prepaid.

The people manning the tables were very nice and accommodating. The food was okay, despite the terrible heat. (96) Many tables were in the heat. A suggestion for the next time is to have it inside if the temperature reaches 89 degrees or higher. The cost was much too high for what one had. BTW, the ice cream sandwiches were melted. That was a disappointment.

The location of the dinner was not specified in the confirmation info. Therefore, we went to the wrong location as it said the Williamsburg lodge. In addition, some of the food items listed on the website menu was not offered. It was NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

I don’t know if this was the Williamsburg lodge or it was open table, but absolutely horrible direction on where to go. We went to the lodge and talked with 4 different people at the entrance, two restaurants and a hospitality person. All kept directing us to an empty room. There were at least 20 others wondering around with us. Finally go to the front desk and she knew where it was! 10 minute walk and we found it and everything else was great. Food was very good and service was exceptional- even when it rained😀

Food was acceptable but not at all up to standard for the price charged. If you want a nice Christmas meal out, there are better options in the Williamsburg area.
