Nigiri and sashimi is top quality. Every else was surprisingly pretty bad. Pad Thai, Rick James roll, even the baked crab roll suffered…and so did we.

Overall, it's a really cute little date spot with lovely ambiance and decor. However, it falls short in the food category, which, to me, is the most important. We ordered several different entrees, as well as an appetizer and dessert. The best items for me were the steak skewers and the Japanese whiskey pudding. They were delicious but indicative of a larger issue. If my favorite dishes at a sushi restaurant were non-sushi items, what does that say about the sushi? Not to mention, of course, the food was priced fairly heavily especially relative to its average quality. I will say the service was wonderful, and both the server and hostess were very kind. However, overall, Wabi on Rose represents an issue I have with many "cute" restaurants in LA, particularly on the west side—they're all style and no substance.

Sushi was really good but be prepared to spend a lot of money. Amazing ambiance, romantic yet lively. Hostess was friendly but something seemed off, like disingenuous or something. Waiter was friendly but non-attentive. Had to flag him down to pay. Great place for a special occasion.

Food was decent, the sushi was super yummy but everything else was mid and not super hot. Service was alright and food was ok. Ambience was great! Wouldn’t be a place i’d HAVE to go back.

Our waiter had no self awareness. Kept pestering us if we wanted to order more. We felt as if he was trying to get us out as quickly as possible to free up the table. We were celebrating an engagement and he ruined the vibe. Very disappointing!
