Established in 1997 Waraji has been offering an extensive selection of sushi, sashimi & authentic Japanese cuisine. We also feature a unique selection of Japanese microbrewery rice-based beers. Our sushi menu includes the highest quality sushi and sashimi including omakase, japanese uni, hirame, spanish bluefin, madai, king salmon, hamachi and a wide variety of specialty house rolls (Scary Jerry, Hinata, and The Sweet Dragon just to name a few) Our authentic kitchen offers a full menu of tempura, teriyaki grilled items, nabeyaki udon, katsudon, sukiyaki, shabu shabu hotpot, A5 wagyu, ishiyaki, chawanmushi, age nasu, gyudon. Chef Masa, with over 30 years of sushi experience, invites you to join him and his staff for a true taste of Japan.

Waraji added an Izakaya Lounge which has the largest Sake and Japanese Whiskey selection in the Carolinas. Also, we carry Japanese Beers such as Matcha IPA, Orion, Sapporo, Kirin, Asahi, and Echigo Koshihikari as well as a fine selection of wine.

Beautiful food, service, and ambiance. Froze my a** off and most ate with coats on. 41° outside and they needed to accommodate.

Maxine was amazing! Great service, awesome recommendations. She made my birthday really special and was very engaging throughout our dinner. Will definitely be back! Best sushi, 10/10.

We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday with our two kids. They were very flexible and understanding when we had to push our reservation back by a couple hours. Dining in the area with the tatami floors was such an experience. The food was delicious and our server was kind and superb. We started off with the enoki tempura which had the perfect light/crunchy batter. The kohitsuji yaki- lolipops were incredible with a nice spice to finish it. The karage was pretty good as well. Between us all we had a donburi, chicken katsu as well as a few sushi rolls which were excellent. The sake flight we tried was incredible. We are already talking about going back to celebrate more birthdays this year. It is a little bit of a drive for us from Clayton, NC but it was 100% worth it.

Sushi and sake was great as usual. Lots of different sake selections. Favorite sushi spot and our server Richard was amazing!!
