Warsugai is a nostalgic Asian-American restaurant located in Portland, Oregon. We are a reflection of the diversity of different Asian foods chef Kyo Koo experienced dining out with friends and family growing up in Portland as a native Oregonian. The concept is a evocative journey, encapsulating the vibrant ambiance of old Hong Kong neon and an edgy, hip hangout vibe.

We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was excellent and good value. Creative and delicious cocktails. The service was incredibly friendly and professional! Do not miss the fried tofu appetizer. None of us at the table were typically fond of tofu but this was absolutely delicious! Quite a revelation!

First, Chef Kyo Koo is no longer associated with this reataurant. We saw him on Chopped and were interested in eating his food. It is now being managed by a woman named Sabrina, who is cordial and does try hard. but this enterprise is only three months old, and it shows by the non-quality of most of the food we were served. We chose the tasting menu. Completely at their discretion, no choices are possible, except for allergies or extreme aversion to certain food. The first two dishes were actually quite good - fried tofu, then wonton/potlickers. The rest, was not very good. Very oily, the bolgogi was burnt and replaced with another try, which was better. The two rice dishes tasted like day old rice, the brocolettes actually were good. The portions are way out of control BIG for two. More like Chinese food sides size. Overall disappointing, not very good and until they get their act together, not worth the price at all. Might try it again in a year or two, if they last that long.

Inventive & creative dishes in all courses. Price points are good value. Energetic room w/o being interruptive. And for having all "hard surfaces" not too loud, which happens with those settings. All people involved in our service are friendly and knowledgeable. We could enjoy our friend & the great food & the ladies enjoyed their wine selection. Sabrina & Mike M. made our experience very enjoyable. We / I'll be back.

We ordered 4 things off the menu, and only on thing was tasty--the wontons (though they were supposed to be chicken and black truffle and we didn't taste a hint of truffle). The signature fried chicken dish was dry and the bland sauce ruined the crisp of the chicken and made the lettuce bed wilty. The atmosphere is great, drinks were good, and service was fine, but the food was laughably bad.

It was our first time trying this restaurant out and it was exceptional! The decor is absolutely gorgeous! I wish there were more protein options other than pork and seafood, but the chef was able to sub out crab for some beef bulgogi in the noodle dish and it was sooo good! The happy hour prices are unbeatable. I will definitely be back soon!

The food was excellent!! The service was great. Our server was very nice, informative and funny! I can’t stress how good the food was. It’s excellent. We were a group of 4 so we ordered a bunch of stuff and just shared everything so we could try as much of the menu as possible. We will return! Highly recommend.

We got the chef’s choice “pupu” menu. It was honest to god wall to wall hits. We got FIVE appetizers, 4 veggie dishes, and 4 entrees for 65 per person, which in portland is a legitimate value. We had 4 people and were so full. Even the veggie dishes were huge highlights. I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough, we will be back.
