   We had a lovely breakfast . Pancakes were good, as was my bagel. Good coffee- just no skinny option for milk and oat is not my favourite. My granddaughters loved the connect four, playing cards and the scrabble. Plus I had a great catchup with my 3 friends.

   Delicious food in a welcoming pub. I have been a number of times in the last few months and it has always been excellent.

   We had dinner on a spacious table for 4 with plenty of room between adjacent diners. The food, drinks and service were excellent and atmosphere and lighting perfectly balanced. WC's were clean and tidy. A big thank you to the staff and management of the Wattenden Arms!

   Nice friendly welcome but quite a limited menu. Chose the steak pie which had chewy steak and soggy pastry. Poor

   Oh dear Peter that is a shame; did you tell the staff so we could make a change for you? Always best to let us know at the time - if you did then thank you. Unsure about your point of limited menu; Soup, Sandwiches, Steak, Kebabs, Pork, Chicken, Burgers, Pies, Fresh fish... unsure what else we can do. all food is freshly prepared with fresh ingredients - we aren't a chain pub. We are sorry you haven't enjoyed your visit and have chosen to tell us via this review.

   Great service with friendly, efficient staff. Sunday lunch was excellent! Started with salmon on sourdough, followed by turkey roast with a side of cauliflower cheese. No room left for a dessert. Will definitely return.

   I was in there on Tuesday for a friend's birthday. We had a lovely lunch with superb service. Although they didn't know until that day it was to celebrate a birthday they managed to do a cake with a candle. Our waitress was very helpful, pleasant and cheerful. Today although the food was excellent the two men that were serving were very miserable and hardly spoke. This put a damper on our lunch there seemed to be an atmosphere. This was such a difference to Tuesday. I am not sure I want to return. Such a shame when the surroundings and food are so good.

   Paula, we are so sorry to read this. I was one of the two gents on shift yesterday and I didn't serve any tables. On the floor I had our experienced Maitre D' and one of our super young ladies. We do hope you do return as the experience you detail is certainly not our standard. One of the young ladies from Tuesday was on shift and would've welcomed this feedback directly so that we could've resolved your unhappiness prior to leaving.

   Food good in general but chef cooked wrong meal for one of our order. It was, however, quickly remedied. I would say though that the ham hock sharing plate doesn’t really work - personally I wouldn’t have it as a sharing option. It is a nice pub inside and staff were welcoming.

   Grateful for your review Karen. I know there was a problem with your dish - Chef prepared the gammon and eggs and not the ham hock. The ham hock sharing plate is a popular dish normally and I am sorry that the confusion resulted in you not enjoying it as you should. I hope to welcome you back again soon.

   Mostly a good experience but let down by poor communication between the bar and kitchen. Quite a lot of what we ordered was forgotten. Also…. Very noisy… too noisy.

   Thank you for the review Sean, we are so sorry. Unsure when you came in to the pub - we were showing rugby over the weekend in the bar area and the garden was also very busy. The poor communication comment has us baffled - we hope you spoke to your server about it and we will follow up with the team on site so we can try to understand what happened. If you want to call the pub to give us a full explanation it would be helpful as we want all customers to have the best experience with us. We do hope to see you again.

    Great pub, new chef that has really taken to elevating your experience of breakfast and meals. Lovely staff, great atmosphere and overall a great place to chill and enjoy. Pop in and enjoy, you won't regret it.
