Yangban, the genre-defying Korean American culinary ‘conversation’, which opened in Los Angeles’ Arts District, re-opens after a transformative interior overhaul of the space, revealing an evolution of the highly acclaimed restaurant. Now featuring a full-service dining room and updated food and beverage programs, the concept remains at its core a Modern-Korean American restaurant as told through the lens of husband-and-wife chefs Katianna and John Hong.
Recent awards include: Bon Appetit's 10 Best New Restaurants, Esquire's Best New Restaurants in America + Chefs of the Year, David Chang's Restaurant of the Year, Condé Nast Traveler's Best New Restaurants in the World and recognition from the James Beard Foundation and Michelin.

In order for us to best accommodate large parties, all parties of 7 or more guests receive a pre-set menu. It is an exciting mix of individually served and family style dishes. The experience will start with bites and appetizers, followed by banchan and main dishes, finishing with dessert. Substitutions are politely declined, but we can accommodate all serious allergies. Kindly list all serious allergies or dietary restrictions in your reservation notes when booking your party. Should your party decrease in size, we will charge according to the number of guests the reservation made unless we are contacted with at least 24 hours' notice.

The food is absolutely outstanding. My only suggestion would be to slow down the service by 20%. There are to many flavors to enjoy to be rushed.

Without doubt the best meal we’ve had this year. The chicken was outstanding but try the crab appetizer and the beef tartare roll. They were ridiculous. And the mushroom dish in the creamy sauce, I would come back just for that! Cocktails were so good too. Amazing dining experience.

This is my 3rd time dining here and it always exceeds expectations. The food is amazing and we love Thai, our server, who is a wonderful gracious host and so attentive and kind and fun. Thank you to all the other staff. They’re the bomb.

Enjoyed their prixe fixe menu & every course was delish!!! The desserts were good but nothing extraordinary, except the buffalo milk based ice cream-ish dessert was definitely the table’s fav!! 🍨

Incredible pre-fixe meal allowed us to try so many dishes. The wings were outstanding and the scallop handroll, Tteok, steak and tofu mole are bites you can’t miss!

Chose an early reservation and we are glad we did. We had the best service and the restaurant wasn’t very full until later into the meal so it kept the noise levels down. The mushroom dish was the winner for our table, simple, flavorful, delicious! Service was 10/10. Our server was very friendly and the support staff was always there to clean up plates and provide us with more water when needed. Everything was so good! I will be going back for sure.

The food is always so amazing. The manager and all team members were extremely hospitable and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience. Truly a wonderful place

We did the tasting menu and the food was incredible. Service was excellent and very warm. We ate outside because we had our dog along and we appreciated that they brought him water. Highly recommended.

We came for an anniversary dinner, the restaurant was about 20% full and the waitstaff positioned us directly next to a family with two energized 3-5 year olds. So just the situational awareness wasn’t there. We asked to be moved and they continued to serve drinks to the previous table, which we advised to be adjusted. After that we ordered the fried chicken - excellent, mushroom/rice cakes - excellent, rice pot - ok, Banchan - excellent. Sesame cocktail was also very good. Overall felt a little over priced and service was so-so.
