Have visited the Mountain Room many times over the years. Ordered the French Onion soup. Served luke warm with a large slice of bread and melted cheese. Disappointing. Trout was good. As was the leg of lamb. Disappointing wine list. Overall not as good as in the past. But prices were higher.

The place is very pretty. The cost is pretty expensive especially for what you get. The steak and filet that we ordered both had burnt/charred ends which then that part was then overcooked. Chris the gentleman who brings water was super attentive and nice.

The Mountain room is coming back from near demise post covid but it is not quite all the way back. A somewhat limited menu from before but the food and service was good. I heard a waiter tell a guest "we did not get any mashed potatoes today"

This was the worst fine dining experience I’ve had in recent memory: ordered the ribeye and was given what felt and looked exactly like a New York strip, and was assured that my steak was, indeed, a ribeye, but that the cooks decided to offer us the rib cap/end piece. I’ve eaten rib cap plenty of times, and in several excellent restaurants, and it was clear we were being fleeced by the kitchen staff. The kind server did agree to take the steak off our tab, which was appreciated. However, we also ordered the pasta and it was, no exaggeration, almost inedible: overcooked and rubbery pasta with barely discernible “cashew cream” sauce, with a light drizzle of balsamic (the latter of which is not listed as a featured ingredient). It is no exaggeration to say I was gobsmacked by the quality of this food. I will not be returning.

Dining at the Yosemite Valley Lodge - Mountain Room was excellent! I'm so glad we made a reservation. This was a busy weekend in Yosemite Valley after Thanksgiving. The Mountain Room was elegant and welcoming and the perfect break from a busy holiday at home and exploring Curry Village. The food was delicious! Great beverage selections as well. The host and wait staff was awesome. I'd love to go back every time I visit Yosemite in the future. The pasta dish I had was so delicious and the perfect portion.
