   Everything about this place exceeded expectations. I proposed to my girlfriend right outside the inn and when we went to dinner they were so sweet and generous and made our night even more special with an expert wine recommendation, perfect service and delicious food. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience.

   Relaxing, fun, elegant, and delicious! Dinner companion said best crab cakes ever - including on many sea coasts! Butternut squash soup is a healthy vegetarian (vegan w/out crème fraiche garnish) favorite. Outstanding service including perfect recommendations from an amazing wine list!

   Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Red Rooster. Service and food were excellent. Ribeye was prepared perfectly. Really a nice way to end the day after a long drive. Treat yourself and dine here

   Delightfully warm welcome, food, service, and ambiance - Perfect Vermont on a very cold night! Delicious, creative food and beverages, and gracious substitutions, to suit any taste! Already looking forward to next time :-)

   We are frequent patrons of the Red Rooster. When we are looking for a lighter meal, like this evening we chose the Vermont Artisan Cheese Tasting. It is a delightful assortment of cheeses, crackers, grapes, jam and honey. We also had the New England Crab Cake which was delicious. Thomas who we have had as our waitperson in the past gave us top service.

   Quiet traditional dining room experience with attentive service and good food. The cheese platter was excellent, as was the squash soup and the pork dish. The gnocchi had good flavor, especially when you’d get a bite with the sausage but the rabbit ragú lacked richness. It was more like a thin broth.

   We thoroughly enjoyed our meals here, we even returned for a second night. Service was great both nights, and although on our second night we were near a large party, we asked to be moved and were easily accommodated. The drinks were fabulous and they offered gluten free bread to accommodate my gluten allergy so I could enjoy the pate appetizer, which was delicious. My partner ordered the pasta both nights, one was an appetizer, and one a main. He cooks very well, and was very, very pleased with the dish. Sadly they don't offer a gluten free pasta (I know they make their own,) but I felt very disappointed that no accommodation was made to offer these wonderful dishes (in what is a limited menu to begin with,) to their gluten intolerant/celiac patrons, hence the removal of a star.

    The waitress, food, ambience were all great. A little pricey, though. Hostess could have been a little friendlier. Oh, and the mussels and broth were best I’ve ever eaten!
