Bavette
Price: Expensive•Farm-to-table•4.9(372)What started out as a butcher shop concept, has evolved and changed over the years to become a full-service restaurant, which was solidified with the restaurant's move to a larger space in 2022. At Bavette, the consumer will enjoy complete transparency of its food moving from farm to plate. Although the butcher shop has been phased out, the restaurant still works with the same farms, and uses the same high quality meats on its menu, which consists of a daily changing menu consisting of salads, sandwiches, small plates, pates, cheese, and charcuterie boards. The restaurant truly is a farm-to-table restaurant, sourcing not only the meat but most of its produce from nearby farms. In addition to the highly seasonal menu, there is a small store featuring chef-curated retail items, such as Wisconsin cheeses, local charcuterie, artisanal jams, pickles, salts, vinegar, and oil. Going along with the thoughtful menu is a select and unique offering of craft beers, wines, and cocktails.Birch - Milwaukee

Transfer Pizzeria Cafe
Price: Expensive•Pizzeria•4.8(241)You are cordially invited to visit Transfer Pizzeria Café, located in the Harbor District on the corner of 1st and Mitchell Streets. - OTOpenTable Diner1 review4.0Dined 5 days agoWe had a great experience at Oak Barrel Public House on Saturday, March 8, 2025. We had a 6:30 pm reservation but arrived early at 5:50 pm because of the Bucks game and the Shamrock Shuffle, which had closed off streets and created large crowds. Despite being early, the staff was very accommodating. They even had a table ready for us earlier than expected, and we were seated with minimal wait time. The place was packed with Shamrock Shuffle participants, but the service remained attentive and friendly. Even with the busy atmosphere, we never felt overlooked. Unfortunately, they were out of my first choice, the Whiskey Bacon Chili ($8.99), but I went with the Pulled Bacon ($13.99) instead — bourbon cider braised pulled bacon with Kentucky bourbon sauce, flame-roasted jalapeño corn pico, and pickled red onion. It turned out to be a great second option — rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. Person #2 had the Chicken Caprese Wrap ($16.99) with fries, which they said was tasty and light without feeling heavy. Person #3 ordered the Oak Barrel Signature Wings ($17.99), but they were also out, so they opted for the Buffalo Chicken Wrap ($16.99) with fries and were happy with the choice. While it was surprising that two of the three of us couldn’t get our first choice so early in the evening, the positive service and quick seating made up for it. The table time limits were clear from the website, but we never felt rushed. Overall, a very positive experience — we’d definitely return!More infoOak Barrel Public HousePrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Milwaukee•4.4
