- RRobertPhiladelphia County •1 review5.0Dined 2 days agoFood was fabulous! Service was excellent. Value was spot on. We were having dinner with our Granddaughter and her boyfriend for the first time together with us. Unfortunately we were seated next to a large group that appeared to be a Christmas party. They were having a GOOD time. I would definitely return again, maybe just not during the Holidays.More infoTony’s Mining CompanyPrice: Expensive• American• Cornwall•4.6
- LLindaPhiladelphia County •11 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe had a very good experience overall! The calamari, seafood pasta entrée, blackened salmon entrée and truffle fries were outstanding. The lamb chops would have been better if they were double cut. Our server was attentive and friendly. The noise level was slightly higher than expected and the wait time on delivery of appetizers and entrées was a bit slow but the restaurant was very busy because they were hosting 3 Christmas party groups. We plan to dine there again in the future.More infoThe Log CabinPrice: Very Expensive• American• Leola•4.8

- JJoannePhiladelphia County •4 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 6, 2024Dined with my 3 teen-aged granddaughters. Matthew and Zeke provided friendly and attentive service. Yellowfin Tuna Tataki delicious! Gnocchi with Short Ribs amazing!! Unfortunately, the lobster in the fettuccine was overdone and rubbery, and value was low because there were only 2 small pieces of lobster in the bowl of about $1 worth of pasta. Better value with the other entrees. The girls made short work of The Gibraltar shellfish platter, and one said they were the best oysters that she ever had. Matthew suggested a German Riesling that paired very well with my dinner. Overall a wonderful experience!More infoGibraltar LancasterPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Lancaster•4.9

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What makes an occasion special isn’t an arbitrary date on the calendar—it’s the decision to celebrate. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.
