The first Roy's opened in Honolulu in 1988 and we've spread our warm hospitality and passion for innovative and creative cuisine around the world ever since. Indulge in one of our spectacular cocktails or choose a glass from our award-winning wine list while you discover the fresh ingredients and outstanding seafood, expertly prepared by our local chefs that made us famous. We invite you to join us at Roy's Downtown San Diego located on the water at the Marriott Hotel and Marina, featuring a dining room overlooking the marina, or patio dining just steps from the water.

Second time I try the Roy’s while in San Diego. Same verdict! Food is good but not memorable. Portions are on the smaller side. I don’t mind paying more for something unique. Here I pay more but I have some of the food that I can get even at the Marina Kitchen upstairs for less. Then there is the wait! It takes so long to get food out. But at least our waiter was professional and nice even though he was dealing with 3 different tables alone.

I have eaten at Roy's across the country including Hawaii for 15 years. I don't know if it is just this location or at the few locations left in the mainland, but the tastiness of the food has declined. Appetizers were ok and the entrees were below average. The room is starting to look run down and service was somewhat slow. Definitely not worth the money.

Just an overall third-rate experience. Food was meh, server was nice but inconsistent. Room was SO brightly lit, it felt like a diner. Had to flag down manager to get our dessert actually delivered.

Roy's is one of our favorite places to eat. The setting is lovely, the food is excellent and the service is always good. It is expensive so it's best for a splurge or special occasion.

Thurs 7pm seated promptly. Decided to sit inside, tad chilly/breezy outside despite heat lamps. Delicious food & fantastic service from our waitress Amanda. Another enjoyable dining experience!

This was one of the worst dining experiences ever. First, they failed to inform us of a fixed pre fix menu even when calling us to confirm our reservation and finally informing us when we were finally seated. Next, despite a 7:30 PM reservation we weren't seated and received our appetizers until 8:30 PM. The appetizers were so so at best. Then the entrees were not delivered until after 9:00. I've had better filets at Texas Roadhouse, better lobster at Aunt Annie's lobster shack. The service was slow and unhelpful. They ran out of the dessert we wanted and would not make other accommodations other than just offering the remaining desserts that were available. For $100+ per person (no alcohol) this was an expensive and poor tasting disaster. Extremely dissatisfying for Roys.

Although it was Christmas and expected to be crowded, the restaurant was understaffed and not prepared for the holiday crowd. As a result, we were seated on tine at 7pm but didn’t receive our entree until 8:15pm. Also, we were originally seated outside where there were heaters but two of the main heaters were inoperable. We were so cold, we had to move indoors. For a $200 meal, I expect much higher standards.
