About the restaurant

Serafina is a little gem of a restaurant, perched on top of Nob Hill, with views overlooking the city and Bay Bridge. Serafina was owner Maurizio Bruschi’s grandmother, and the name of her eponymous restaurant in the heart of Trastevere (Rome), where Maurizio first began making pizza at the age of 14. The executive chef is Umberto Cannarsa, a successful chef from Rome, who left his own restaurant in Rome to work with Maurizio again. The menu offers everything, including vegetarian options, but specializes in innovative Italian fish dishes, including fresh calamari, stuffed with olives, escarole, anchovies, drizzled with a potato leek sauce, as well as homemade pastas and dolci. The space is warm and elegant, where neighbors and friends can come together.

This experience took me back to Italy with how intimate it is. The owner was extremely lovely to us and shared so many of his stories from his days in Capri. Will come back!

I have been a customer of this Gem for over 20 years. The food is authentic Italian with a modern creative touch to it. Best of all it is seasonal which gives you something to look forward to every quarter. The clams and mussels come in several broths and it never fails that when I bring a guest they all fawn over it. Service is good and the owners pay close attention to making everyone comfortable. The decor is reminicint of Pompei and one of the owners Pinot will tell you the story of it if you ask. Definately if you want an authentic modern Italian meal, this is the place

When a guest walks through the door of Frascati, he or she is initially treated to a friendly and comfortable dining room. This tri-level restaurant features warm colors, high ceilings, antique light fixtures and street views of cable cars clanging up and down Hyde Street. We are a quintessential neighborhood restaurant located on Hyde and Pacific in Nob Hill. On the iconic cable car line. We serve Italian food in a charming and cozy space. Menu by Chef Anthony Florian, executed by Chef Dennis Diaz. Consisting of handmade pastas using the freshest local ingredients available. You can expect classic dishes with some contemporary ones. Please don't drive if thats an option as parking is very difficult. We have the most romantic and inviting dining room in SF.

This is the the sister restaurant to Seven Hills. The menu is small, but everything sounded delish. I had the lasagnette. It was different from everyday lasagna, but amazing. Many layers of thin pasta with bolognese sauce and parmigiana cheese. My friends both had the spaghettiini. It has the perfect amount of spice. They have a good wine list. We shared budino for dessert and it was fabulous.

This place was lovely! The food was made from scratch and delicious! Italian at its finest! We enjoyed appetizers, mains and dessert and everything was amazing! Our server recommended dishes and portion sizes and was very knowledgeable and attentive without being obtrusive! I highly recommend this restaurant!

A neighborhood gem. Amazingly good food every time. Great service, nice wine list and superb locations too. It gets lively during prime dinner hours, but if you want quieter/camler, go earlier or later.
