I took my staff here for a Christmas dinner and we had a great evening. Meggan was our server and she was very friendly and attentive. Reed, one of the managers there, always makes sure that you feel welcome and all of your needs are met. The food was good and everyone was happy.

We always enjoy Siempre Algo, but this dinner was particularly special. We tried lots of items we had never eaten before. I can heartily recommend the caviar on homemade chips, the shrimp tempura, the tuna tartar, and the affogato with fennel ice cream. All beyond delicious. Siempre Algo continues to be one of Pittsburgh's best and most innovative restaurants.

The Hartwood Restaurant enjoys a rich history. The originally the headquarters of the Harmar Coal Company. Purchased in 1988, the building was transformed into retail space, including antiques and a bookstore. Café tables were soon added amongst the book shelves, Over the years, The Hartwood Restaurant has evolved into a charming and unique place for meals, drinks, and events. The elegant dining rooms and a pub featuring hand-tooled woodwork and stained glass artwork.
The Hartwood also features outdoor dining in a garden-like atmosphere, complete with a wood burning fireplace. Whisper’s Pub features an eclectic wine list from around the world with more than a dozen different wines by the glass, as well as seasonal cocktails, craft beers, and wine flights.

Carmella’s Plates & Pints is the first restaurant for co-owners, Carmella Salem and Michael Alberter. Our kitchen creates upscale comfort cuisine.
Our dining room has a warm and cozy feel due to the wood- beamed cathedral ceiling, open fireplace, taxidermy and stained glass windows that adorn the dining room. Our guests feel as though they are tucked away at some destination lodge that exists in the heart of the Historic Southside. Local meats are delivered daily with Wild Game plates on the menu such as our staple plates like the Bison Burger and Smoked Wild Boar Meatballs. We do have an intimate 60 seat dining room and ask that guests please call us for parties of 6 or more to make a reservation. Our expansive Whiskey Bar boasts over 500 Selections. I didn’t know Carmella’s had brunch! And now that I know, I will be back. It was busy, the food was good, and the service was excellent. I had the Carmella’s brunch plate with sausage, eggs, fruit and waffles. Fun and it was an excellent sampler of other things on the menu. We were going to a matinee at the City Theater so it was a great first stop.

Our experience was great. Other than the air conditioning being on in the beginning, the experience was perfect. They quickly made it warmer and we had a great time. Food and service was excellent.
