Born in Milan to a renowned restaurant family, Chef/Owner Maurizio Michi has always had a passion for cooking.
This Northern Italian Restaurant features classics that include, Ossobuco alla Milanese, Braised Short Ribs of Beef, Veal Chop Emiliana, Fish Stew Viareggina, along with Steaks, Lamb Chops and grilled Sea Bass Branzino all of which are executed to perfection under his watchful eye.
Sofi also offers authentic Italian pastas that are prepared in house daily with the freshest ingredients in the market.
Bread, Focaccia and all of our desserts are also prepared daily.
some examples of the desserts include Panna Cotta, Chocolate Souffle, TiramiSu and Ricotta cheese cake.
The wine list is comprised mainly of wine from Italian vineyards with some California exceptions.

This is an excellent small restaurant, with attentive waiters who leave you alone when you want to talk, and are there immediately when you want to order something or ask for the bill. The food is very good, the ambience perfect.

Excellent dinner with my wife. Service was impeccable and the food and wine were excellent. Not a huge menu or wine list, but all classics (northern Italian) and well done. A bit pricey but definitely recommended.

It's a very nice cozy restaurant with excellent service and a great menu. I think it's quite pricey - $39 for a simple chicken dish seems excessive and same for $30 pasta. Given those prices, it wouldn't be my regular stop but if I am at the theater downtown I would eat there.

In Chicago for convention. Looking for Italian place we haven’t been to before. What a GEM. Great atmosphere, service and good food. Noise level was good as most place in city are very loud. One small hitch with my meal was side of rissotto was over done and bland. Will definitely be back!
