   We had a wonderful experience that’s to our amazing server, Nubia! She gave by far the best recommendations one could ask for, and more importantly, she was so knowledgeable about the food and allergies! Very kind and professional server, wonderful food, and upbeat ambiance! Highly recommend!

   We had high hopes for Sushi Roku Newport, but unfortunately, the experience was a complete disaster. The kids' chicken dish was a major letdown—it wasn’t crispy at all and had an odd, almost "washed-out" taste, like it had been run through a laundry machine. As for the sushi, the Crab and Bluefin rolls were completely flavorless, as if they had been prepped the day before and left to sit. Given the restaurant's reputation and pricing, we expected much fresher and more flavorful offerings. To top it all off, the loud so-called "music" only made things worse, adding to the unpleasant atmosphere rather than enhancing it. Service and ambiance aside, the food and noise level made this a truly regrettable dining experience.

   Staffing was short so service was not great. Food is very good. Restaurant is noisy so be prepared. Value for money overall was average. Would recommend with above caveats.

   Delicious sushi and spacious room with couches. Friendly and flecible service (my friend had allergies and they accommodated). Love their hamachi appetizer and would return just for that! This is quality sushi. )

   Had a blast. Food was delicious. Service was on point. We had a wobbly table but they fixed it real quick. Great time. Definitely coming back here often.

   We were sat on the patio. Didn’t request. It was cold and the heater coverage was not sufficient - both the distribution and amount of heat generated. One large party seated next to us was overserved and extremely loud. The other party next to us were on their phones the whole time with volume up. Could be a symptom of the location of the restaurant but we won’t be back.

    Sushi Roku in Newport Beach offers a fantastic dining experience with a stylish ambiance and high-quality sushi. The restaurant boasts a sleek, modern design with ocean views that enhance the overall atmosphere, making it a great spot for both date nights and group dinners. The sushi itself is fresh and well-prepared. The toro tartare was a standout appetizer—rich, buttery, and paired beautifully with the truffle soy sauce. The premium sushi platter was a great selection of high-quality fish, and the wagyu nigiri melted in my mouth. I also enjoyed the baked crab hand roll, which was warm, flavorful, and perfectly crisp. Service was attentive, though a bit slow at peak hours. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable but seemed slightly overwhelmed with multiple tables. Drinks took a little longer than expected, but the lychee martini was worth the wait—refreshing and well-balanced. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality justifies it for a special night out. While I wouldn’t say it’s the absolute best sushi in Orange County, it’s definitely a top-tier option with a great vibe. I’ll be back!
