Christmas Eve is dinner will be a curated $92/per person prix fixe. Large parties of 6+ will be invited to our family friendly, buffet-style seating. Parties of 1-5 will be served a la carte in our main dining rooms.

Since our early days as a tea room, we’ve been a respite for locals and visitors alike, offering a haven for conversation and memorable cuisine. The tradition continues as our culinary team has curated an inventive and elevated menu through New American cuisine while paying homage to the beloved dishes that have been served at the Tabard Inn for years. A DC institution since 1922, we look forward to offering our guests all the comforts of a home away from home.

Executive Chef Matthew Zafrir came to the Tabard in 2023, bringing with him experience from various fine dining restaurants around D.C. such as minibar by José Andrés, Cranes, Revelers Hour.

                                                      Great ambience for a romantic date. The service team was very friendly and gives one space to have their conversations. Wine listing is good & food’s exceptional with in-season options (kudos to the kitchen team!). The place checks the boxes on a lot of areas.

Food was excellent, however a few of the limited menu items were unavailable when dining late in the evening which was disappointing because I was looking forward to trying the rib eye and the crème brulée.

                                                      Horrible experience - my pork chop was served in a plate of water. We took more meat home in togo containers for our dogs than we ate at the restaurant. It’s the second time I’ve tried to give tabard inn a chance. We will not return.

                                                      Food was not at all worth what we paid. Presentation and quality was poor. Extremely expensive. Was also charged $37 for a cocktail because the waiter decided to go with Angel’s Envy bourbon without consulting me when I asked for something other than rail bourbon. Very unfortunate all around for a Christmas Eve meal.
