   We were looking forward to a lovely New Year’s Eve dinner later in the evening assuming that since it’s New Year’s Eve a late meal would be normal - not so much as it turned out. I’d been to The French Hen a couple years back and had such a great experience, I was sure it would be perfect. This time, the service made the experience very disappointing. It took a bit before anyone greeted us or showed us to a table even though we had a reservation. Then, it took a while before someone finally came to take a drink order. Our waitress was nice but each encounter was rushed like she was ready to get us out the door as fast as possible. My friend didn’t even bother ordering the glass of wine he wanted with his meal. Even though his drink was empty there was no check in to see if he wanted to order something else until after the meal was served even though he told the waitress he was looking at the wine list. It wasn’t even busy. Plus I’m pretty sure the waitress didn’t even ask us if we wanted dessert until after she brought us the bill and came for the credit card simply asking, “Is there anything else?” Of course by that point the answer was going to be no anyway since we didn’t want to prolong the experience. I’m sure the staff was ready to get out and enjoy their holiday and I can understand that. However, my two cents: if you want your guests out by closing at 10pm please don’t accept a 9pm reservation expecting them to enjoy a multi-course meal in less than an hour when it’s a holiday dinner date. You can say that it’s ok to stay past closing but the old saying that actions speak louder than words is still true. It’s too bad because the food was really amazing and the restaurant setting is great and very pretty. We might give another try for lunch sometime in the future but definitely not planning for an evening out here again.

   Lovely, local gem! The food was outstanding. We went at lunchtime, so we had the benefit of 5-star food for lunch prices. The French onion soup and espresso chocolate mousse are not to be missed!

   We spent Christmas Eve with Blake and the wonderful folks at the French Hen. The food and wine were excellent as always. The decor is really appealing. Service was cheerful and attentive. Well done.

   I love The French Hen. I was introduced to it in 2001 and go anytime I’m in the area. They never disappoint. The new location is beautiful and the food is still incredible

   We had a perfect evening celebrating our son's b'day. The staff was soooo very gracious and friendly. Our waiter had a great sense of humour. OUR FOOD omg., Very very good. We sat by the big window and enjoyed that alot.

   Dined at French Hen many years! Menu doesn’t vary, quality of food is excellent. They are currently experiencing poor quality wait staff. Order had to be rechecked, waited over an hour for dinner to be served, had to get up and ask wait staff who were chatting together to make that happen. Bill was incorrect, it was corrected. Disappointed but will go back!

   The highlight was the food, the cheesecake appetizer especially. This was my second visit in two weeks. The restaurant decor is inviting and even though the restaurant was busy, we were able to have a conversation with ease. The service was attentive and professional. On both visits, the wine list was an issue as neither of the first two bottles we asked for was on hand. They made this right by making an acceptable substitution. We are fairly new to Tulsa with roots in New Orleans. I expect that we will visit again, regularly.
