I’ve been excited about trying The Rabbit Hole for months, and I was super disappointed. The only really cool thing about the place was the decor. The murals and artwork match the online description, but the music and staff left much to be desired. If I was trying to curate a “nightlife”, “fantasy”, “something different” I would pay more attention to things like music and staff. When we walked in we weren’t so much greeted as shuffled to the side and told they would text when a table was ready. The guy who seated us was very friendly, but he was the only one. Our server was okay, but disinterested. She asked if we wanted a drink but didn’t recommend anything. When she brought our drinks, she literally slid them down as she walked by. She came back to light the marshmallow in mine without saying anything. When she took our order it was the same “have you decided?” - no recommendation, no “what are you in the mood for”, just kinda tapping her toes waiting. We got dessert and it was the same. She was not rude; just dismissive & preoccupied. The music was actually hilarious. They played 90s and 2000s pop the entire time. Nothing mysterious or gothic or inspiring about it. TLC Scrubs is currently (and unfortunately) stuck in my head. The food was good. The sticky ribs were fantastic. My ribeye was okay but not the best I’ve ever eaten. The carrot cake was surprisingly delicious. Carrot cake can be difficult, and I will give them rave reviews on theirs. It was perfect. I was underwhelmed by the rest of the night, though. I left feeling bored and disappointed. We eat at a lot of “upscale” restaurants, and I think this one is missing the mark. We planned to go to Shame & Regret after to bring in the New Year, but felt so blah about Rabbit Hole that we changed our minds. I think this place gets so many five star reviews because of the super cool artwork, and the way it looks inside, but they’re cruising off that rather than really developing an ambience. Just meh

We order two specials and after 15 minutes they came back and told us they didn’t have it we need to order something else. They gave us two free drinks for it but we ending up paying more for a different meal.

It was odd seeing young children here after 9pm. So weird to bring them that late to a cocktail lounge/restaurant in the first place. Other than that, great service and really good food. You really should not charge $6 for the bread, though.anyway, good food and service.

We had a great time and a great meal. It was fun to walk down stairs in the middle of the sidewalk. The ambience was soft, inviting, and adventurous. The food was great. Most items were gluten free or could be made gluten free.

My second time here as an out-of-towner, had the meat loaf, SLAPPED! I hardly ever eat meat loaf, and this one had perfect balance of flavors. Bartender was very generous and gave recs to other local spots as well.
