   We enjoyed our visit to Toma last time, but not as much this visit. The food was good, although it seemed high ($32) for pesto pasta with chicken. The service was the main complaint. Our server took a long time for the initial visit to our table. Then, it took a long time for him to bring water. A bit of a wait for the wine too. It wasn't that he was very busy, just ineffective and inattentive. He spent lots of time talking to tables with couples while we (2 women) waited for a scrap of attention or service. Once them meals were served, we had to ask 3 times for parmesan.There was no followup to see how our meals were until we were almost finished with them. The service was lackluster and not at all in keeping with the kind of establishment Toma is. It's made us less excited to return.

   Charming, smaller restaurant across the street from the beach. Excellent food. Good service. Highly recommended. Popular with the locals.

   5:00 reservation, the short rib meal came out, nothing was hot, veggies, mash, short rib. Maybe weren’t ready in kitchen to prepare meals at 5. They tried to make it right w new dish. Then eventually took it off the bill. Been to Toma many times, 1st negative experience.

   We love Toma! Food is always excellent, although I did not care for my Salmon dish. It was very very rich for a fish dish. The first few bites were good but there was nothing to break the richness. It needed acid or something. Everything else was flawless, including service. Although we were charged twice for bread service after the server told us it's free refills (we did ask for more) - last time we were here bread was complimentary. Don't love that. We will be back - just wouldn't get the salmon again.

   We came here for the last night of our honeymoon and were treated so very special by the entire staff! The food was absolutely incredible to match the service and Linda our server was unmatched!

   Beach front location, intimate dining room with cozy vibe and acceptable noise level. Superior quality food, from brief menu. Good wine list and pleasant wait staff.

    Fantastic as always! One of our top 10 favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. We ordered swordfish and the ravioli pomodoro; also burrata and arugula salad as starters. Everything was fresh, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Molto bene!
