The views overlooking the Potomac were lovely! The restaurant itself is fairly nice inside. The food was decent but did not justify the cost. However, the reason for the low rating was the service. We ate on a Sunday evening. We had reservations. Once seated we waited for 20 minutes without a server, while tables around us were being served with no problem. We sought out help from the hostess (who was our kindest and most helpful staff member the entire experience) who got us a server. When he arrived he appeared unhappy and irritated. He took our order and then that was the last we saw of him. The runner brought our food. No one came back for refills or to ask how the food was. We had to go back to the hostess desk to ASK for the check. Super disappointed in our experience with a restaurant in this location and this kind of price point. Won’t be going back.

Menu has been updated since my last visit with my son. Great menu options this time around. Service was not as great as past visits. My friend expressed the same but we understand good wait staff are hard to find. Will politely ask for different server if placed in his area again.

Convenient location within walking distance of the Kennedy Center; food good; service excellent with waiter handling multiple tables efficiently; spice level of the Cajun seafood over grits could have been better; ordinary key line pie.

I went to Tony & Joe's Seafood Place w/my husband for our date night. Everything was sooooo great! From the prompt greeting from the front host, the table service from the waiter, the very all delicious food, and plus the ambience and locations. Perfect 10! For the appetizer we ordered fresh Rhode Island Calamari. It's very crunch w/tasty dip sauce. My husband ordered Roasted Cod and Crabmeat, and for my self, I ordered Fried Whole Branzino. Both entrees were so scrumptious. We love what we got. All the salad choice all great too. We had cheesecake for our desert, and we absolutely love it. Thank you Tony & Joe's Seafood Place team, to make our night so perfect and enjoyable. I wish I can get the name of our server. He is very polite and very knowledgeable w/the food item in the restaurant which was a big help for the 1st time visitor like us. Definitely highly recommended restaurant.

This was our first visit to Tony & Joe's Seafood Place. The host was wonderfully kind and welcoming. We had a reservation for two and the time of day we were there (after 2pm/Sunday), wasn't crowded. We were given a choice of tables and had a wonderful view of the river. The ambiance was light and cheery. A very nice vibe for the time of day. Our meal was absolutely delightful and came out in a timely manner. The cod and crab were amazing. (I would definitely order that again!!!) The ribs were delicious and well-seasoned with a dry rub. I was shocked at the portion size of a half rack and had plenty to take home because I couldn't eat them all. Our waiters and servers were professional, attentive and not at all overbearing. Everyone was wonderful. I highly recommend Tony & Joe's Seafood Place and will definitely return with more friends.

We always go to Tony and Joe's for special occasions as it is far from our home. The staff has always been friendly and professional. The food has continually gone downhill. The entrees are always good. We had the Cod/Crab and the filet Medallions. Both were awesome. The bread, however, seemed like potato rolls or something. The salad was a little sparse but ok. We tried the crab dip which was great but would better be served with bread (not potato rolls!). All in all, we will still keep going but we hope if the economy gets better, the quality will go up. One more thing! The wine glasses were very full which automatically gets the waiting staff a 25% tip! Again, thanks for another great visit (late Valentines for us!).

They were doing construction work in the restaurant and sat us right next to it even though the place was empty.

I purchased a Groupon for a prix fixe menu for two and took my best friend out for a Tuesday night dinner. Unfortunately, most of the dishes my friend wanted weren’t included on the special menu, so we ended up ordering more than expected. I had the whole fried fish, which was flavorful with the sauce, but it was extremely bony. The side of rice was just okay. My friend ordered the crab cakes and thought they were good, though not necessarily worth the price. We both enjoyed the Brussels sprouts—they were delicious. The Caesar salad was also tasty, but it could have used a better selection of lettuce. My favorite part of the meal was the key lime pie. The restaurant wasn’t busy that night, and while I noted my friend’s birthday in the reservation, the only acknowledgment was a verbal “Happy Birthday.” The service was solid—the waitress was attentive, and the bartender was great. Overall, it was a good experience, but I wish the food had been great instead of just okay.

The view was lovely, the food was ok it lacked flavor and the menu could be better. The key lime pie was amazing, also the bar drinks were good.
