Welcome to Vinnie’s Steak House and Tavern, the premiere destination for fine dining in the Triangle since 1987. Independently owned and operated, Vinnie’s proudly serves Certified Angus Beef in a variety of cuts and sizes. Vinnie’s also offers the freshest local seafood available, classic Italian fare, Farmer’s Market vegetables and homemade desserts.

Our display wine cellar houses an extensive selection of wines from around the world and serves as a centerpiece to our intimate and elegant dining room. White linen, vintage leather chairs and sparkling crystal will set the mood for a more than memorable dining experience, no matter what the occasion. For those truly exceptional occasions, Vinnie’s has three private rooms to host special events for groups of 12-30 and banquet packages are available for groups of 16 or more.

This was our first time and we were very excited based on the reviews. We eat out a lot in Raleigh, so we know the food scene very well. The food was fantastic but we didn’t get to try everything we ordered because they forgot it. The service was majorly lacking. We got seated right around 7:35, ordered around 7:45, and didn’t get our meals until after 8:45. So over an hour for food to come. In this time, the server forgot to bring us bread until nearly 8:30 so we sat at the table with no food for nearly an hour. On top of that, they totally forgot to bring us the French onion soup we ordered, which was supposed to come out prior to the meal. On top of that, not that it was required, but no discount or comp for the poor service (speed) or totally forgetting the single appetizer we ordered (soup) when the kitchen was running over an hour behind. I didn’t mention it or ask for one, but as someone who eats out often, most of the other high end restaurants would’ve made up for the poor service (discount, free desert, etc).

Great place for a special event. Pricey but worth it with a special someone. Service was outstanding. My water glass never got close to being empty. Appetizers were well proportioned and nicely presented. Entrees were plenty with some leftovers for another night. Parking during a special event can be challenging as there are other restaurants nearby that share parking space. No booths that I could see as all seating was at tables.

Food was excellent but the service and time we had to wait for drinks and food was unbelievable. From the reservation to the check it took 3 hours. I will never return. I don’t recommend unless you have all night for dinner. It would have been different had their been more communication but that too was lacking.

It was average and not expected. For over 20 years we’ve gone for special occasions. Nothing about the meal was special except the deviled eggs. The rolls could have been served at a chain, the scalloped potatoes were dry, the cream spinach had no cream and the $67 rib eye was about 1/2 inch thick and tough. Lots of other excellent places in raleigh to spend $300 for dinner.

Vinnies used to be THE BEST steak around NRaleigh. Sadly, the quality of food has gone down considerably in the past couple of years. Service is always great. Still a good meal just not a great meal for the price :(
