Yank Sing never disappoints. The food is consistently great and it’s some of the best dim sum on the West Coast. It’s pricey but well worth the money.

We got seated 15 earlier than our reservation, even though it was very busy. Food was great as always and prices were moderate. Staff did the best they could to keep up with demand, as it was quite crowded.

I have been going to Yank Sing since I was a kid in the 80s and it is my favorite restaurant. However if it was my first time I would tell folks to stir clear of the Rincon location. We were not served we had to flag someone down for water and tea after sitting for a while. There was very little cart service and they were out of major items. They advertise baked pork buns which is one reason I went to this location on this day and though they only serve this item on weekends they won’t serve on a holiday weekend. Their reasoning is that it is a very popular item that people come there for, any reasonable person would then make sure it is on the menu all the time! The food was cold and we had the worst honey walnut prawns I have ever had, we actually ended up leaving two thirds on the plate. They had a huge line but the tables around us were dirty the entire time we were there. I still love Yank Sing but you are better going off to the Stevenson Alley location, you will get the true dim sum experience.

Understaffed? This is the first time in 20 years including during the pandemic that our family has not been pleased with service and availability of food b

I had high hopes for Yank Sing, but the service was a major disappointment. We had reservations for 1:30 but still had to wait 15 minutes. People without resys were seated before us. The waitstaff repeatedly ignored our table. We had to flag them down multiple times just to get basic attention. We didn’t get our water until 30 minutes after we were seated. When the dim sum carts finally came by, they often skipped our table entirely or seemed disinterested in serving us. At one point, it felt like we were invisible. The food itself was decent, but it was hard to enjoy the meal when the service left such a bad taste in our mouths. For a place with such a reputation, I expected a lot better. Sadly, I won’t be coming back anytime.

I think this place is overrated. It’s not a relaxing experience to dine. It’s way too crowded and the service when it’s super crowded is poor. I would not go back.

We were seated at the far side of the atrium area and may have been in Siberia for the lack of service, both drinks and dim sum carts. The food is always good, we just didn’t have the normal full choice of options and the servers were absent. Disappointing but we now know to request to be seated inside on the weekends. We had to go inside to request our final check to pay and leave.

The service was awful. We were not greeted, asked about drinks, or given a high chair after we requested. We had to order food 3 times for it to come. They also pack you in like sardines, too many tables. The cart workers were rude when we asked questions.

We have been going here for 35 years and it is always delicious and fun! The best dim sum I have had anywhere. Highly recommend the steamed dumplings, sticky rice and pork buns.
